Some may say that the Google environment is fairly primitive when comparing to the Microsoft alternative. That said, a downside to the Google suite of office products is that they do not come with the multitude of bells and whistles that most of us are used to with MS Office. Add the ease of sharing documents with others and you have a suite of tools that are very simple to use and collaborate. And the fact that you are “in the Cloud” when using these applications means that you can start a document on one device and continue and finish on another. One of the great benefits of Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides is that they are readily available through Google Chrome and any mobile device. We will use Descriptive Statistics and the t-Test: Paired Two Sample for Means to see if there is a difference between two samples of data. The goal of this article is to provide an alternative solution for data analysis using Google Sheets with the XLMiner Analysis ToolPak. One of the most effect add-ins to MS Excel is the Data Analysis ToolPak.
While I do not consider myself to be a power user, I like to think I could hold my own if there were to be a “MS Excel, V-Lookup, nested if-then formula nerd-off”. Each day I will download, analyze, create a summary, and then discard countless files with thousands of rows of data.
Like most, I am a frequent user of Microsoft Excel for comparing large and multiple sheets of data output.
